Motorola says what makes the phone different is so-called contextual computing, a tech buzz phrase which means the phone can tell when its in your hand versus in your car.
Since Google bought Motorola and its boatload of patents last year, there's been plenty of speculation the old cellphone company would build a new product.
Google announced this morning it will lay off 4,000 people. They're all employees of Motorola Mobility, which Google recently bought. The layoffs account for 20 percent of Motorola Mobility's workforce.
