Motorola announces new ‘aware’ smartphone

Motorola CEO has announced that the company will revamp its line of gadgets and manufacture devices in the U.S.

Last year Google dropped $12.5 billion on the cellphone company Motorola Mobility. Part of that pricetag was for the company’s healthy stable of patents. But it was also a hint that Google was stepping fully into the hardware business. That hint became more official last night when Motorola’s CEO Dennis Woodside announced the company was indeed revamping its line of gadgets.

Roger Cheng, executive news editor at CNET, joins Marketplace Tech host Ben Johnson to discuss the latest.
