The share of goods the U.S. imports from China has declined to its lowest level since 2006, as manufacturers and retailers seek to diversify their supply chains.
The U.S. is importing less oil, and that will continue into next year. The Energy Information Administration expects the lowest oil import levels in 25 years.
A deal has been reached to end an eight day strike at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, which handle almost half of all the
cargo that arrives by sea in this country.
