Some Parisians consider leaving the city permanently in the wake of COVID-19

Realtors see an increase in demand for homes outside the city.

According to statistics gathered by the main French phone company, more than a million people fled the Paris region at the end of March in order to spend the COVID-19 lockdown in the countryside. There was a similar exodus from other French cities.

Now, some realtors say they are seeing a surge in sales because some people want to make their move to the countryside permanent.
