Ahead of July 4, average gas prices jump about a nickel
In some parts of the country, the issue is supply, while other states see new gas taxes.

Gas prices have recently been running higher in some states. According to AAA, gas prices have jumped about a nickel per gallon recently to a national average of about $2.73. And it’s just as 41 million motorists prepare to travel for the July 4 holiday. So what’s affecting gas prices?
