Police say pickpocketing is on the rise in Paris

French police officers detain a man suspected of pickpocketing in Paris during a 2015 crackdown on pickpockets and street scammers targeting mostly tourists.

Pickpocketing has long been one of the less agreeable ways of parting with your money. In Paris, this kind of theft has reportedly become a lot more prevalent. Police in the city, which hosted approximately 9 million visitors last summer, say the rate of pickpocket theft continues to climb.
