The College Board is seeking to address hidden inequities in the college application process by introducing a new “adversity score.”
The data point seeks to quantify a student’s socio-economic privilege, or lack of privilege, using information about their community and their high school.
This comes at a time of heightened scrutiny for testing and college admissions. The College Board is expected to make the adversity score widely available in 2020.
