EU to vote on contentious copyright proposal

Members of the European Parliament vote today on a proposal that could make it harder for internet users to share songs, videos and other copyrighted content online.

Members of the European Parliament vote today on a proposal that could make it harder for internet users to share songs, videos and other copyrighted content online.

The proposal is intended to give content creators greater protection for their intellectual property. It could also mean fines for aggregators like Google and YouTube, if copyrighted material slips through the cracks.
