A new report from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center shows enrollment is down 1.4 percent since last fall. For-profit institutions were hit the hardest, with enrollment down 14.5 percent. Experts say that’s partly to do with the big players in the industry — ITT Tech and Corinthian — closing their doors, but it also has to do with changing demographics and unemployment rates.
