President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for director of the Office of Management and Budget is House Representative Mick Mulvaney from South Carolina. He’s a deficit hawk who came into office with many other Tea Party candidates back in 2010. He has a long history of budget cutting, even embracing the term “shutdown caucus” because of his willingness to shutter the government in 2013 over debt levels.
