Doctor Strange is Marvel’s latest box office hit

The comic franchise has won new fans with its Hollywood offerings.

The latest Marvel superhero adventure, “Doctor Strange,” dominated the weekend box office. The film, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, earned $85 million in its domestic debut, bringing its worldwide gross to $325 million. It’s the latest example of Marvel’s envied ability to make piles of money for its parent company, Disney, even when using lesser-known comic book characters.
