Here’s a thought about direct democracy.

Californians will vote on 17 ballot measures next Tuesday. Residents of San Francisco have an additional 25 to consider.

For San Franciscans voting by mail, that means each ballot return envelope could weigh as much as four ounces, The San Francisco Chronicle reported. Depending on how the returned ballot is folded, it may weigh more than standard envelopes — postage can cost the city $1.57 per ballot.
