NASA just announced the discovery of 715 new planets. As a point of comparison, we’d only identified about 1,000 before.
They were all found using the new $600 million Kepler telescope, and NASA says there’s more to come.
One of them is about twice the size of Earth, and four of the planets are in what NASA calls the “habitable zone,” meaning they can support life.
Whether there actually is life out there…
