‘PRISM on steroids’: Russia amps up surveillance ahead of Olympics

There has been plenty of news about massive online surveillance originating in the U.S. Recently. So what about other huge surveillance programs around the globe? Turns out in Russia, the FSB, its national security service, is updating its powers to listen in on huge amounts of internet data ahead of the 2014 Olympics. Molly Wood of CNET says the country has always had far-reaching surveillance powers, but the latest update is a big one.
