Unemployment claims fell last week — but there’s a catch

The trend is in the right direction, but the statistic won't dominate in the markets.

Unemployment benefits fell very sharply last week.  Normally, that would be a useful sign about an improving labor market. But there’s a big caveat here. Two states didn’t report because of computer glitches. Diane Swonk, chief economist at Mesirow Financial, joins Marketplace Morning Report host David Brancaccio to discuss.
