Shoot down that drone! Colorado town to issue permits

The Denver Post says a thousand people have applied for the permit.

This final note today, in which Deer Trail, Colo., population 550, gets its 15 minutes of fame.

Residents will vote next month on whether to start issuing permits to shoot down government drones flying overhead. The Denver Post says a thousand people have applied for one, each person paying $25.

Despite the city ordinance, “shooting at an unmanned aircraft could result in criminal or civil liability, just as would firing at a manned airplane,” according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
