Can robots create art?

A continuing goal and a heated debate in the tech world: Can robots truly create art? And what does that even mean?

University of Southern California professor emeritus David Cope created Emily Howell, a computer program that composes music with data. He’s been at the center of the debate over whether computers or their controlling algorithms can be creative. Cope says in the case of programs he has created, that might be the wrong question.
