The final interview with George Mitchell, father of fracking
The 94-year-old oil pioneer who changed the face of the energy industry with his fracking procedure died today. He gave his final interview to Marketplace's Scott Tong.

The United States is producing more of its own energy these days than ever.
That’s due in no small part to what’s come to be called “fracking.” It’s not without controversy, but today we pause to remember the father of that technology, George Mitchell, who died today at 94.
Marketplace’s Scott Tong was the last person to interview George Mitchell back in December of last year.
