FBI to announce new wiretap proposal
The government wants to wiretap services like Facetime and Skype.

The Obama administration is contemplating a massive overhaul of the nation’s surveillance laws. The Federal Bureau of Investigation plan would make it much easier to wiretap people communicating online.
Joseph Hall, of the Center for Democracy and Technology, tells Marketplace Tech the proposal could force services like Google Voice, Skype, and Apple’s Facetime to store extra data at a big cost.
