And this final note, remember back when predicting crime before it happened was just a celluloid dream?

“Minority Report” clip: ‘Mr. Marks, by mandate of the District of Columbia Precrime Division, I’m placing you under arrest for the future murder of Sarah Marks and Donald Dubin that was to take place today, April 22 at 0800 hours and four minutes.’ ‘No I didn’t do anything!’

Well the Los Angeles Police Department is taking a page from “Minority Report,” utilizing computers in something called “predictive policing.” It uses statistics to figure out where best to place officers to tamp down on property crimes. The department plans to expand a pilot program over the next year, despite concerns about it leading to illegal search and seizure.

You just know they’re trying out spider venom on new academy recruits, right? You KNOW that’s happening.
