Israelis’ credit card info hacked, posted online
Political hack?
Middle East tensions appear to have spilled online as hackers claiming to be from Saudi Arabia have published credit card information of some 15,000 Israelis. The hackers claim to have breached 400,000 accounts overall and have indicated that the attack was politically motivated. From the AP: The Israeli Ynet news website said the hackers called the cyber attack a “gift to the world for the New Year” that they hoped “would hurt the Zionist pocket.”
Banks in Israel have already frozen the accounts of the people affected and say they will issue new cards.
