I know those names sound like lost characters on Little House on the Prairie, but they’re all a bunch of bills. That might break the Internet, according to some of the people who helped build the Internet.

The Stop Online Piracy Act was introduced in the House;  the Protect IP Act and Online Protection and ENforcement of Digital Trade (kind of stretching with that EN to land the cool acronym, you guys) are Senate bills. Tomorrow, the House Judiciary Committee is expected to vote on SOPA. Meanwhile, someone has already been working on how to de-SOPA the Internet. It’s a Firefox add-on that would instead of going to domain names that might be blocked, it just routes you to the internet protocol address instead.
