Google and Samsung are holding a big joint event on Wednesday. Google will be launching the new version of the Android operating system, dubbed Ice Cream Sandwich for reasons I cannot begin to fathom. The big innovation of the OS is that it will look the same on tablets and smartphones. Also at the event, Samsung, the Lex Luthor to Apple’s Superman or the David to Apple’s Goliath depending on your brand allegiance and proclivity toward allegory. Samsung will debuting a new phone with Ice Cream Sandwich baked right in (mmm, baked ice cream sandwich). What will it look like? Dunno. This is the rescheduled event that was supposed to happen a week ago today but was delayed, allegedly, out of respect for the passing of Steve Jobs.
