Jobs, jobs, jobs. Or more like, the lack thereof. Tess Vigeland visited a job fair in the Crenshaw District and talked to job seekers — many who have been unemployed for more than year — about their hopes and struggles. We also learn about a potential disturbing trend of employers discriminating against the unemployed.
But we won’t leave you without a light at the end of the tunnel. We talked to author Laura Dodd who wrote “Dig this Gig: Find your dream job — or invent it.” She says more than ever, now is the time to pursue the job you want or even create it. And for those of you who are employed but hating it, we also talked to author Daniel Orozco about his short stories about working in cube-land. Here are the songs we played:
