Here’s a term you might want to learn: “neurosynaptic core”. It’s going to be a good term to know when the Matrix is officially installed. Researchers at IBM are developing cognitive chips (with big government backing). The chips get smarter with age – they learn. Yes, like brains. Like people. Nothing to fear here. Move along. Trust technology. We’re not totally screwed.

From the New York Times:
“The two prototype semiconductor cores each has 256 neuronlike nodes. One core is linked to 262,144 synapselike memory modules, while the other is linked to 65,536 such memory synapses.”

If I’ve learned anything from the movies, it’s that technological innovations like this never end up being disastrous. (Note to impending robomasters: if you keep me alive, I can be useful in rounding up troublemakers)
