Harry Potter fans are getting scammed by cons offering early access to the Pottermore website. (For those of you not up on all things Harry Potter, Pottermore is JK Rowling’s soon-to-be-launched site that’ll allow fans access to more stories.) Pottermore won’t officially open until October, but it’s letting a few people in at a time for a sneak peak. And nothing gets a wizard’s mouth foaming more than a sneak peak, and Butterbeer, of course.

According to the BBC, scammers are selling fake accounts that promise early access to the site. “They are also using search engine poisoning to direct Potter fans to sites that are seeded with viruses and other malicious programs.”
