Apple had a few apps available that let you know where the cops had set up DUI checkpoints so you could avoid driving there if you were drunk (but somehow sober enough to use an app). There have been complaints about these things for a while and Apple finally acted on them. The latest round of the Apple user agreement (which is massive and which you will agree to without reading it) contains this passage: “Apps which contain DUI checkpoints that are not published by law enforcement agencies, or encourage and enable drunk driving, will be rejected.” Apple apparently acted in response to the request of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) who requested the change.
