That’s the news as of a short time ago. The Syrian government says it has shut off all internet access across the country, including on 3G networks. That shutdown includes government offices. This comes as protestors are swarming the streets. 8 people are reported to have died in the protests, which were spurred by the deaths of seven children in earlier anti-government protests. The idea of shutting down the internet to quell uprisings has been tried recently in Egypt and Tunisia but it sure didn’t work there.
