There’s an effort underway in Japan to record and post short identifying messages from earthquake evacuees on YouTube. There are about 150 messages on the dedicated YouTube channel so far. You can search on a person’s name, address, or shelter location. Some 16,000 people in Japan are still categorized as missing. Many are in shelters (many are presumed dead) but communications in Japan are still so problematic that they have not been able to reach family members. It’s a video extension of Google’s Person Finder program, which was up and running within an hour of the quake and has an index of over 400,000 names
