Verizon Wireless CEO Daniel Mead was interviewed by Reuters and said he won’t lobby against the proposed merger of his two competitors because there’s just no point. These mergers go through eventually, he figures, so while there may be a bunch of concessions made, it’s not going to get blocked for good. He also says that his company has no interesting acquiring Sprint. Sprint already went on the record on Sunday night with a list of gripes about the proposed merger. Of course, that merger threatens Sprint’s survival, not Verizon’s.
