If you can get to a phone in Egypt, you can send a tweet. That’s thanks to a new system set up rather quickly by Twitter, Google, and SayNow (an internet phone company Google recently acquired). Google and SayNow run the phone side and the voice to text translation that pipes in to Twitter. Even though internet and cell coverage have been hard to come by, land lines have been up and running in Egypt. Twitter had already made a statement yesterday calling on the Egyptian government to restore internet service.
