This one seemed to have taken everyone by surprise. Eric Schmidt will leave his post as CEO at Google on April 4 and take on a new position of Executive Chairman where he’ll work on partnerships. Why? Dunno. But a lot of people are guessing. Computerworld says it’s because he wasn’t ready to take on Facebook as a permanent ongoing rival.
Then there was his history of saying stupid/weird stuff.
Or maybe he was simply not all that good at his job.
Taking over the position will be co-founder Larry Page (he’s why the search algorithm is called Page Rank). Page is more secretive and possibly weirder than Schmidt.
