Yikes. Google TV was supposed to be making an enormous splash at next month’s Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas but now Google is asking TV manufacturers like Toshiba, Sharp, and LG to delay their planned TVs that incorporate Google TV so that Google has more time to tinker with the software. Google TV has obviously had a lot of problems since launch, mostly having to do with networks just not wanting to give away their content for TV viewing, since that more or less undercuts the whole way they make money. Sony and Logitech already have Google TV products out there and Samsung will soon roll one out but others are being asked to wait. It’s important to note that most of the time Google rolls out web-based products that can be revised remotely but when you get into building objects, it’s a lot trickier.
