This is getting to be a pretty big and potentially significant story and one you should be keeping an eye on, especially if this same sentiment begins to spill across the Atlantic in some way. EU investigators have added two additional German complaints against Google to their ongoing look at how Google offers up search results. Competitors complain that Google gives its own services preferential treatment so that when you search on a restaurant you get the Google Places result way before any restaurant site. So it’s leveraging its search power. Whether that means unfair treatment or merely self-serving treatment by a private business, I’ll leave to your own political and economic predispositions.
