Millions of people have been tuning into the World Series. But did you ever think about how much energy your big-screen TV is using? As Eve Troeh reported, it’s a lot, and the Federal Trade Commission is looking into making sure consumers are made aware. A lot of people also are doing all their banking online these days, and some banks are following up by charging for paper statements. But what happens when you don’t have any Internet access? On the housing front, we had stories about the people getting foreclosed on (they may not be the usual suspects), and how some homeowners are still having trouble paying their mortgages despite the government program HAMP. We heard from Glenn Hubbard about tax cuts and the too-large government, he says, and from Gustavo Arellano about the Latino vote. And Nordstrom announced its new non-profit store concept. Here are the songs we played:

  • Smokehouse – Pell Mell

  • The Battle – The Neptunes

  • Half Asleep (Instrumental version) – School of Seven BellsBuy

  • Warning – TussleBuy

  • Hello? Is This Thing On? – !!! (Chk Chk Chk)Buy

  • Oscillate Wildly – The SmithsBuy
