Gadget stories can sometimes be tedious but not when the gadget allows people to walk. Berkeley Bionics unveiled E-legs at an event yesterday. It’s a sort of exoskeleton that works with a battery backpack, leg braces, and crutches. As the user moves the right crutch forward, the mechanism moves the left leg forward and vice versa. This kind of technology has been worked on in the military for a while but this will be commercially available in July of next year. It’s thought that it could also be used to rehabilitate people who are learning to walk again.
