Airbus has unveiled their vision of The Future in “The Future by Airbus” (pdf) – it’s an ecological plane that’s transparent, so passengers can see the stars and the clouds and everything else around them. That bird caught in the propeller. The long drop from their chair in the sky. Plus, the plane of the future will have holographic technology that will allow people to project images in their seating area – virtual office, Zen garden and so forth. They say the tech already exists for this kind of plane. But, they want to be realistic. That’s why they’re saying it’ll be 2050 before we’re flying in it.
