Big airline news: Shareholders of United and Continental airlines have been voting for a few weeks now on a potential merger. If they do merge, they’ll create the world’s biggest airline. Speaking of big — power that is — there are questions about how much of it Professor Elizabeth Warren will have as she oversees the creation of the consumer protection bureau. The SEC is looking at a loophole in bank regulations that came to light during the financial crisis. Overseas: Doubts over a report that says China’s government is considering plans to force foreign automakers to share electric vehicle technology if they want to continue manufacturing there, London Fashion Week kicked off, and Europe considers more pregnancy leave for expectant moms.
