Steve Chiotakis: President Obama has made it a priority to get people back to work. We’re going to see if he has anything up his sleeve when he delivers a speech a the White House later this morning. Ashley Milne-Tyte has a preview.

Ashley Milne-Tyte: More than 7 million people have lost their jobs since the start of the recession. The White House has tried to tamp down expectations about the speech by saying there’s no silver bullet that’ll get all those people back to work.

The president is expected to announce a move to spur new infrastructure projects. He’ll also outline a way to provide incentives for weatherizing homes — that project would give the construction industry a boost. And he’s expected to talk about giving small and medium-sized businesses more access to credit.

The administration may use some of the unused bailout fund money to create new jobs. That’s not a popular idea with Republicans, who’d like to see that money go to reducing the federal deficit.
