Simon says, ‘No more’

It’s last call for customers of online grocer SimonDelivers.com.
After nine years of bringing food to the front doors of 19,000 customers in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, the company is making its final deliveries at the end of the month.
Customers’ willingness to pay slightly higher prices for the convenience of skipping the trip to the grocery store has waned as budgets tighten and SimonDelivers was hit with the one-two punch of rising food and fuel prices. Even fuel surcharges and layoffs weren’t enough to keep the delivery business profitable.
Twin Cities residents have two more weeks before they’ll have to start gassing up their own cars and buying their groceries in person again.
