Scrutiny of Boeing planes has expanded beyond the 737 Max 9, after part of the body of the plane blew off an Alaska Airlines flight earlier this month. The Federal Aviation Administration has told airlines to inspect some older models of 737s too.

A month-long fishing ban starts off the French Atlantic coast on Monday. It affects all boats over 26 feet in length and fishing with most kinds of nets. France imposed the ban to protect dolphins, which have been increasingly washing up on French beaches this winter. The BBC’s Hugh Schofield reports from Paris.
